II Jornada de Bioinformàtica i Biologia Computacional
Registration deadline extended to the 10th of December!
We are glad to invite you to the II Bioinformatics and Computational Biology Symposium jointly organized by the
Societat Catalana de Biologia and Bioinformatics Barcelona (BIB).
The meeting will take place at the Institut d'Estudis Catalans on the 12th of December, 2014.
The program is organized around four sessions with a key note speaker and two selected abstracts presentations each.
Structural Bioinformatics: John Overington, EBI-EMBL, Cambridge.
Evolutionary Bioinformatics: David Posada, Universidad de Vigo, Vigo.
Computational Genomics: Alfonso Valencia, CNIO, Madrid.
Biomedical Informatics: Ramon Maspons, AQuAS, Barcelona.
Note that all presentations will be held in English.
Registration to the conference is required and can be done in this link.
Registration is free to all members of the
Societat Catalana de Biologia. Non-members fees are 15€ for PhD students and 35€ for the rest. Participants may submit a 250-word
abstract (Times New Roman 12 pt, MS Word format) together with the registration form before the

Please include the title, authors and complete address (Institution name, postal address, email address). We encourage submissions
of abstracts of papers published or accepted for publication since December 2013. where the main authors are from a catalan institution.
A total of 8 abstracts will be selected for oral presentations (2 per session). The duration of the selected oral presentations will
be 20+5 minutes. One abstract presentation will be given the JdB2014 award consisting of an iPod Shuffle.
